Believe me, the "what you can do list" is far too numerous to type here, you simply have to read some tutorials and try it. png with Inkscape, has 3-d box creation among MANY MANY other options and effects, even text. I believe Photoshop has this ability but I don't use it, can't afford it so Inkscape is part of my main graphics collection of Blender, Gimp and Inkscape, pretty much accomplish anything that needs to be done and all free. For those who don't know what this is capable of, I suggest browsing around for things made in Inkscape, read tutorials and such and find out just what you can do with this great SVG editor.
